I am passionate about creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to explore their voice with creativity and freedom. It is my wish to encourage students to discover their own authentic voice through their musical learning, with input based on their interests and personal goals. My approach is student-led and tailored to each student’s specific learning needs.

Students are expected to arrive to each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with any necessary materials (such as lyric sheets or musical scores). A piano will be provided in the studio for piano lessons.

If needed, there is free on-street parking outside the studio. Please ring the doorbell at the start of your lesson time, as there is unfortunately no waiting room. Please also remove shoes when entering the studio. Socks are required. 

To make steady progress, daily practice is essential. Please feel free to ask questions about home assignments or practice requirements so that students and parents are fully aligned.

Parents: If anything is happening at home or school that may be affecting your child, please let me know. The more information I have, the more effectively I can support and respond to your child’s needs.

If you would like your child to be entered for examinations, please let me know.

If any performance or audition opportunities arise, please bring the details to the next lesson so I can support your student in preparing effectively.

Piano students must have access to their own instrument at home for practice. If you have any questions or would like guidance on purchasing an instrument, please don’t hesitate to ask.

*Please note that tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with lessons received if the student does not attend the scheduled lesson times.

Flat monthly tuition rates are based on the number of guaranteed lessons in the calendar year. There will be a minimum of 30 lessons offered by the studio throughout the year, over 10 months (excluding August & December), and the weeks where lessons are not held (due to holidays, personal performance opportunities, or illness) will be communicated with a yearly timetable in advance.

All payments are non-refundable. After the first payment, invoicing and payment will run automatically on the same day. Tuition will be drawn on the 1st of each month from the method on file. All automatic payments will be run through MyMusicStaff.

Cancellation policy:

Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will not be eligible for a make-up lesson. Lessons cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice will be issued a make-up lesson credit.

Lessons cancelled by me will be given as much notice as possible. Teacher cancellations outside of the guaranteed 30 annual lessons will be rescheduled within 30 days.

Make-up lessons:

A make-up lesson credit will be issued if you cannot attend your usual lesson time, provided you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled lesson time. Please reschedule your lesson yourself using the calendar system.

From the date the cancellation is received, you will have 30 days to book a new lesson time using your make-up credit. If you cannot see a suitable time to rebook, please let me know and I will see what I can do.

Pausing or ending lessons

To end your lesson enrolment for the following month, written notification must be received by email by the 15th of the current month.

If notice is not received by the deadline, the full tuition amount will be automatically charged on the 1st of the month, and students will have the option to attend all paid lessons that month. Lessons will then be cancelled for the following month.

Tuition payments are non-refundable.

Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons. Materials will be assigned by me and the student will be expected to have the materials no later than two weeks after the materials have been assigned. Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible.

When students enrol, they are reserving a dedicated place in the studio. I generally seek students who are interested in making a long-term commitment to their vocal development.

Students are expected and encouraged to practise for at least 20–30 minutes a day throughout the week. Consistent practice (for example, 20 minutes each day rather than three hours on a Sunday evening) is far more beneficial to a student’s overall progress and development.

From time to time I use photos and short videos of my students around the studio, on the studio website, or in social media posts. These videos and posts are encouraging to other students and helpful to other teachers. If you do not want your child's image(s) to be used, please let me know. In general, the students love to see their pictures and videos on my website or around the studio. They find it motivating and exciting to think that others want to know what they are learning. The students are identified only by first name.

• Current studio hours are Mon - Thu 12pm - 9pm.

• Please allow at least 24hrs for a response to communication during the week.

• Communication outside of the studio operating hours may have a longer response time, and all weekend communication will be answered the following Monday.

From September, I will provide a yearly timetable of proposed teaching weeks.

Please note: as the 30 week policy allows for flexibility, there may be a small number of additional studio closures announced closer to the time, depending on any performing commitments that may arise. These will always be communicated with as much notice as possible, and make up lessons will be issued. Please see cancellation policy above.
